Theft exists in many forms..

getout_rupLet me begin this post by saying that it never ceases to amaze me what humans will do to fuck over other people while looking out for themselves. I, like many other tech professionals, do side work for many people on their computers. About three months ago I reformatted a friend of a friends computer. Before I took the computer in I informed them that I normally charge $75 for virus removal, but since they knew my friend I decided to charge them $40. Well three months later I haven't received any payment but 3-4 different excuses as to why I haven't been paid. Apparently their brakes need fixen on their car, they have to pay other bills, and I should have come over for dinner the one night that I was invited (by the other friend). All of these things are preventing her from sending the measly $40 via check in the mail.

This post is more of a rant than anything else. Moral of the story is don't trust anyone. People will take advantage of you any chance that they get. I've also learned that I won't be returning any PC's until I receive some sort of payment. I mean really... agreeing to pay someone that is going to do work for you and then not paying them in anything but excuses for three months is as good as stealing from someone. It's ridiculous that anyone could think that sort of thing is ok. So if any of you do work on the side, do not deliver until you see some green!

..and yes I do feel much better now.
