Synergy

I'll admit it, synergy has been around for a while. However, I had not used it myself until today. Have you ever had two computers, two monitors, and the desire to control both of them with one mouse and keyboard? Synergy can do just that. Currently I have the server application (which is the computer with the keyboard and mouse that you want to use) installed on a Linux fedora machine and the client application (computer with monitor that you want to extend to) on a Windows 7 machine. After a little bit of network troubleshooting which resulted in disabling the firewalls on both computers, I can control both of the computers with the same keyboard and mouse. This is very important for me, as I don't like moving when I don't have to! Yes... I are lazy. Check out my set up below.

If you are interested in trying out Synergy for yourself, head on over to their web-site. Looks like it runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux.
